‘X-men: First class movie fans need to learn that there is so much more to the Marvel Universes. Not just shipping characters together.’
OK, let’s stop this for a second. I will gladly put my hand in the fire and say I’m a big Cherik (or Charles/Erik for those who don’t like the word) fangirl. But I’ll also gladly put my other hand in the fire when I say that I know DAMN WELL that there’s more to Marvel than the pairings. I think every. Fangirl. Knows. That.
We know that Marvel has plenty of action, heroes, villains, super powers, conflicts, interesting characters, more deaths than you can shake a stick at and god knows what else that Marvel has managed to pull out of their arse throughout the years…
Is embracing the idea of two people (or two men in this case) loving each other going to lessen ANY of that? Is love really THAT BAD that people have to flat out say it ‘ruins’ something or make people whip out confessions like these? Oh wait no it’s ok for a man and a woman to go through all that but as soon as two men go through the pain of love it instantly makes it… I dunno flowery or something. Fuck if I know at this point.
PS, if you don’t like what the fangirls do with your characters then jesus fuck man… nobody is forcing you to look at it!
“Professor?”
“Yes dear?” He turned to the small voice in the bottom bunk. Jean Gray had just settled in at the mansion.
“Will you tell me a story?” she asked hesitantly.
“Of course darling. Just give me a moment to think,” he smiled, reading that she wanted a fairy tale.
“I might have…
I… I think my heart just broke.
